Monday was spent getting my students settled in. They have dorm and desks and money now. Andi and I took them downtown for a quick tour and some dinner doner. Another Malteser Weiss for me. Tonight I was invited out to an Irish pub for quiz night... So I assume it will be Guinness or black and tans, my favorite! Today was actually my first real day of work, and we accomplished a lot. It is amazing what you can do without tons of email and people and meetings and more and more and more. Update: Guinness, Black-and-tank, Nukie Brown. No Boddingtons.

I just ignore my work e-mails till the next day. If it's important enough, people get up off their ass and come find me. It's amazing how that makes things less important.
Ed's beer tour of Deutschland. Very nice, who's funding this again... and how do I sign up? Seriously, we'll be seeing Ritcher and Hawrysz on Saturday, sure we'll down a few with you in mind.

It was the Schwabstrasse pub, and the questions were pretty rough. Plus we were not so bright on a few occasions. We lost by 20 points, a wide margin. Oh well!
And my dean told me once to ignore all email the first time. If it is important, they will send it again.
