Beer is Vegan-

So the wife and I have tried lots of diets. Atkins. Weight watchers. South Beach. Sugar Busters. Obviously nothing works.

So the latest is Veganism.

For those that are new to alternative lifestyles, Vegans are extreme vegetarians. No meat. No fish. No animal products.

This means no milk. No cheese. No yogurt. No eggs.

Some vegans are really out there crazy. No honey, I guess it exploits the bees. And no white sugar, it is filtered with a little animal bone (sometimes).

We are still eating sugar and honey, so we are not totally nuts.

Luckily, beer is vegan! I guess Vegans hate yeasties just like they hate those evil plants.

French Fries (Pommes Frittes) are ok. Oatmeal. Rice. Soy milk. And beer!

In the land of wurst and schnitzel, eating out vegan is not too bad. Most döner kebab places do falafel with pita. And we just found a 24 hour BK for O-rings.

BTW, we are only doing the true vegan thing for three weeks. One down, two to go!

Tonight, old standby: Paulaner Hefe-Weißbier Dunkel. Always tasty.

Butter is not on the ok list.

Some vegetable margarine is ok, but we have not found it yet.

Only another 12 days or so...

Vegan? In Germany? Those wursts would be calling out to me in my sleep!! How can you stand it! When we get there, we're goingout for the biggest schweinhaxen, wurst, and sauerkraut plate you can wrap your arms around :)

And by the way, dieting sucks. So I'm just trying to eat less and exercise. We'll see if it works!
